This painting was inspired a founder of French Impressionist painting, Claude Monet. Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement characterised by relatively small, thin, yet visible brush strokes, open composition, emphasis on accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities (often accentuating the effects of the passage of time), ordinary subject matter, inclusion of movement as a crucial element of human perception and experience, and unusual visual angles.

Jimmy Clark Jr. is a self-taught and emerging acrylic painter, originally from Louisiana but resides in Florida by way of Virginia. A retired veteran and civil servant, he draws inspiration from his global travel and life experiences. He creates abstract and landscape paintings that reflect his passion for art, which he rekindled after following a conventional career path. He has been featured in several publications, such as Spotlight Contemporary Art Magazine and Artguide Magazine, and has won numerous awards, such as the People’s Choice Award from the Prince William Art Society and the Special Merit Award from the Light Space & Time Online Juried Competition.
